In August 2021, Saturnia Porcellane got the Sustainability Certification for the first time, promoted by the CERTIFICATION’S ESG Rating:2022© standard. The ESG Sustainability Certification guarantees corporate Stakeholders on the company’s commitment
to reducing environmental and social impacts and achieving the goal of sustainable development.
A few days ago, Saturnia obtained confirmation of the ESG Certification, after periodic review of compliance with the standards, the Rating of our company increased to AA (66.15%) that is, classifiable as a company that has a structured path towards sustainability, having achieved 11 sustainability objectives, including:
- Reuse of waste in processing;
- Safeguarding the health of our workers (also guaranteed by the ISO 45001:2018 certification);
- Energy production from our photovoltaic system.
A few weeks ago we answered some questions on this topic, an interview that we report here briefly:
Why did the company decide to certify itself for Sustainability?
We decided to obtain the certification for sustainability because environmental protection, optimization of raw materials, energy saving and attention to the social aspect have always been our priorities.
The certification for environmental sustainability is now requested by many of our customers, who are increasingly attentive to the quality and origin of the products they purchase.
What were the benefits and results achieved by Saturnia following the Certification?
The certification for sustainability is requested by many companies or credit institutions as a prerogative to establish commercial relationships with us and has allowed us to:
• Make important publicity for our product by demonstrating the high quality that we have obtained in symbiosis with environmental protection in all aspects;
• Obtain incentives and financing at a favorable rate;
• Distinguish ourselves from other companies that are not taking the same path that we have started.
Was the Certification process simple?
Obtaining the certification for Sustainability requires a careful process that lasts all year, in fact all the aspects that are necessary to make a complete and exhaustive final report must always be kept under control. The staff that allowed us to obtain the certification, in addition to carrying out a strict and complete control on the report that we presented, supported us and gave us the essential guidelines to be able to follow, in the right way, the path necessary to obtain it.
