We recently completed a major technological investment in our historic production facility, consistent with our commitment to a sustainable future and safer and healthier work environments.
In collaboration with SACMI, we installed a new 20,000 m³/h filtration system that extracts dust generated in the batching, pressing, and finishing departments, completely replacing the previous unit. The system is connected to 14 key utilities, including our SAMA isostatic presses, finishing stations, and feed silos. This new filter significantly reduces dust levels in both the exhaust stacks and the work environments, helping us maintain crystalline silica exposure levels well below the most stringent limits.
From an energy perspective, this investment represents a significant leap forward for us: the system now has an installed capacity of 45 kW and uses an inverter-driven motor that intelligently manages power delivery, optimizing consumption and reducing waste.
The decision to adopt a new system rather than upgrade the existing one reflects our commitment to cutting-edge solutions that combine production efficiency, energy savings, and worker health protection. This project is part of the technological innovation and sustainability journey we are pursuing in close collaboration with our long-standing partner SACMI, and with a view to maintaining and improving our ESG certification index.
With this initiative, we intend to confirm our leadership in the porcelain sector—not only in terms of quality and production volumes, but also in terms of the concrete environmental and social responsibility that has distinguished every step we take for over 60 years.
For Saturnia, investing in technology means investing in people, the local area, and the future of the Italian manufacturing industry. Every plant improvement is part of a broader vision that focuses on safety, innovation, and sustainability as strategic drivers of growth. This is why we will continue to work with determination to make our production processes even more efficient and reduce their environmental impact, knowing that the quality of our products also stems from the quality of the choices we make every day.
Because for us, producing well is not just an industrial goal, but a responsibility to those who work with us, to our customers, and to the environment that hosts us.
